Prison Outreach Karate Program
Our prison program is great for any jail, prison ministry or chaplin that wants to reach even the hardest of the incarcerated. Normally the incarcerated will not come to a church service because of pride, rebellion, or a sign of weakness. However they will come to a martial arts demonstration with feats of strength, smashing boards, crushing concrete, and high flying kicks. We incorporate the word of God and his love for them into the demonstration. Their hardened hearts melt as they realize that God is not angry with them, but wants to give them hope, and his love.
We open our program by breaking through a stack of wood while explaining the meaning of the word "Combat" in Combat team.
- Confidence
- Obedience
- Motivation
- Benevolence
- Attitude
- Teamwork
In learning how to apply this to their lives, we hope to give them an understanding of how they can be free, even behind bars. We move to breaking boards with high flying kicks, explaining that prayer works, and God wants to help them. We move to breaking stacks of concrete blocks, letting them know that all things are possible through God. Putting your trust in him, he will never let you down.
We close the program with Brian Bryan giving his personal testimony on how he came from a broken home and how he was adopted. Brian Tells how the natural adoption process is very similar to supernatural adoption and how God wants to adopt them into his family.
This message hits home with these prisoners because 90% of them have come from broken homes. They don’t realize that God loves them, forgives them, and wants them to become his children.
